State of AI in Austin 2026

On January 27th, the second annual State of AI in Austin will be held from 3:30-6pm at the Austin Central Library, hosted by the Austin AI Alliance (AAIA).  The Machine Learning Lab at The University of Texas at Austin was one of the founding members of the Alliance and is currently represented on the non-profit consortium’s board of directors.

The event will feature findings from the comprehensive State of AI Report (a McKinsey-style analysis of research and dynamics across the globe) and the State of AI in Austin Surveystratified and balanced to accurately represent the citizens of Austin and the greater Austin Capital Area Council of Governments (CAPCOG) community. Special Advisor to Vice Chair & COO at Dell Technologies, Vivek Mohindra, will give the keynote address, followed by a panel discussion of AI Leaders & Change Agents and the event will conclude with awards and a showcase. Additionally, the evening will award excellence in AI in Austin, honoring individuals and organizations shaping AI in Austin across six key areas: innovation and research (Advance), real-world applications (Accelerate), workforce development and AI literacy (Augment), community and societal impact (Achieve), responsible AI practices (Articulate), and individual leadership.
